The Doctors

Dr. Mona Butani

Dr. Mona Butani has a beautifully diverse background, and that is just one thing that makes her so compassionate and relatable. She was born in India, grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (Canada), and then moved to Hawaii to join her husband, where he was stationed in the military.

Dr. Butani studied and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan College of Dentistry in 1998.

After Dr. Butani’s husband finished his military service, the pair fell in love with the Seattle area and decided to call it home. “It’s got a great mix of urban and suburban lifestyles, ethnic diversity, outdoor activities, and excellent opportunities for my children,” says Dr. Butani. “Seattle’s professional opportunities are also very attractive. Here, I am in the company of colleagues with similar professional values who practice the most up-to-date, cutting-edge dentistry available.”

When Dr. Butani is not helping her patients get their oral health in check, she devotes her time to keeping her children in check. “I try to put 100 percent of my attention to keeping my two little boys out of trouble.” Family is very important to Dr. Butani. She treasures the days she can spend with them playing in the park, riding bikes, or getting away for a dinner date with her husband.

Professionally and personally, she’s guided by the motto,
“You can’t have improvement without change.”

The quote inspires her to keep up with the latest changes in dentistry and cope with the bittersweet feeling that her little boys are growing up.

Dr. Reena Feider

Dr. Reena Feider loves seeing her patient’s beautiful smiles every day. It is a special reminder of why she chose to become a dentist. She finds dentistry to be a great way to help people return to health and allows her to use her creative skills to design flawless restorations. It is rewarding to see patients leave a dental office more confident, happier, and healthier.

Dr. Feider was born in Hamden, England, and raised in Montreal, Canada. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tufts University and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 2000. She then completed her General Practice Residency at the VA Medical Center in Long Beach, California. Afterward, Dr. Feider returned to Seattle to become an associate in a general dentistry office and teach part-time in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at her alma mater.

Dr. Feider moved to San Diego in 2002 with her husband, who was stationed there as a dental officer in the United States Navy. During her years in San Diego, Dr. Feider owned a dental practice for 12 years. After 13 years in San Diego, Dr. Feider, her husband, and twin daughters returned to the Northwest to be closer to family and friends. Outside of the office, she loves to spend time with her family, traveling, exercising, and fine dining.

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.

Lian Lisondra

After 5+ years of not visiting the dentist, I’m glad I went here for my first dental cleaning trip! The staff was friendly and prompt. Overall, the environment is comfortable and they even have an adorable dog! They used advanced equipment to scan my teeth and after my cleaning, they also checked my jaw to make sure my mouth was healthy. I would recommend this place, especially for people who are hesitant to visit the dentist.

Amazing stuff, everyone is very nice there! They have a dog for people who has anxiety and a blanket that is heavy to relax. They also have a lot of patience and they treat you very well!

Dave Reese

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They make sure your questions and concerns are answered. Considerable attention to your treatment is foremost. I'm glad I made the move to Dr. Mona Butani and staff.

Everyone at Totem Lake Family Dentistry is upbeat and friendly. I really enjoyed my zoom teeth whitening experience. The hygienist took her time to explain the process, answer any questions that I had and made me feel very comfortable throughout my appointment. The dentist, Dr. Butani, took her time to introduce herself to me and continued checking in with me throughout my visit. Everyone in the office is welcoming and friendly.
